When using comparison infographics, divide your infographic in half to show two options, divide your infographic into columns to show more than two options or set two options apart by using contrasting background colours.

This type of infographic is the most popular and the best infographic for clearly communicating a new or specialized concept, or to give an overview of a topic and is divided into sections with descriptive headers that help to communicate each point clearly.

Process and How-to infographic

Just like a timeline, a process/how-to infographic follows a single flow and is typically accompanied with directional cues like arrows and numbers. The difference between the two is that processes do not depend on the progression of time but focus on the actual events instead of when they occur. Process infographic is usually used in explainer videos. When using process infographic, you should always number each step in your process to make it easy to follow.



This is good for visualizing the history of something, to highlight important dates, or to give an overview of events by creating a clearer picture of a timeframe. Timelines are great if the story you want to tell involves multiple events or changes over time. If you are to use timelines, always remember to keep the time frames consistent to avoid confusing the audience. 


This is used to visualize location-based data, demographic data or large quantities of data.
